Tempt my Tummy Tuesday- Fresh Strawberry Granitas

Back again for a little more Tempt my Tummy Tuesday, I guess I just can't get enough!! Jump on over and join the fun!
Tonight I was looking for something sweet, yes light, summery like I guess! I made a Fresh Strawberry Granita ... yum yum was it so good, It took a little while to make but was ready just in time. I was getting Lu off to bed, popped in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" that i rented last week, sat down with my honey, watching the movie while eating this great delight .. how much better can it get?

heres how to make it:

1 pound fresh strawberries, rinsed and hulled
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, but I put it in mine)
Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. Place sliced strawberries in a large bowl. Toss the strawberries with the sugar; let stand for at least one hour at room temperature. The strawberries will be very juicy. Puree the strawberries and their juices with the water in a blender. Taste and add fresh lemon juice, if desired.
Pour mixture into a 13x9-inch baking dish. Freeze for 45 mins, run a fork over mixture scraping lightly, let freeze for another 45 mins, take out of freezer scrap with fork lightly, and dish into cups & enjoy!
Simple as that!
